“Frank Cianuro’s is a story of a gentle, endless unhappiness… his artworks are his time machine.”
In the early months of 2025, a prestigious collaboration was born between the Italian artist Frank
Cianuro and the renowned Art Gallery The 6A Gallery in Brussels.
This synergy has launched Frank Cianuro’s works toward Belgium and, in the coming months, into the
international Affordable Art Fair circuit, which will be held in Amsterdam this October—contributing to
the consolidation of his presence on the European art scene.
The showcased works—small sculptures with a strong visual impact—feature flies as their central
subjects, creatures both unexpected and emblematic within the artist’s poetic vision.
Frank Cianuro, always fascinated by the irreverent and disturbing nature of these insects, now
reinterprets them with a certain nostalgia, stating:
“Just as I did as a child when I tried to trap them under a glass, today I capture them artistically under
glass domes, blending play, irony, and reflection—because, in everyone’s imagination, they are horrible
and annoying, yet they remain my way of having fun with what’s ‘less beautiful’, turning it into an object
of attention.”
This collaboration marks an important step in spreading Frank Cianuro’s provocative yet intimate
imagery, confirming the international interest in his bold, irreverent, and unique vision.
THE ACROBATIC FLIES
Frank Cianuro’s flies are playful, acrobatic art toys—irreverent and subversive—born, too, from the Crunk
world as an evolution of the most unlikely subject.
Each fly has its own temperament and character—seemingly identical, yet each distinguished by unique
elements and traits—making them one-of-a-kind pieces within multi-piece installations.
Clumsy and awkward yet made irresistibly charming, these are small limited-edition sculptures, each
with its own name and birth certificate.
